Este año hemos preparado dos eventos para ustedes:

• The Polyglot Gathering Online from March 5 to 8,
• The in-person Polyglot Gathering in Brno, Czech Republic, from May 27 to 31.

Los dos eventos son distinctos y requieren registros separados. El registro y el pago para uno de estos evento no iguala a un registro para los dos eventos.

¿Será válido también mi registro para Polyglot Gathering Online además de Polyglot Gathering presencial?

If you register for the in-person event for a minimum of 3 days before November 25th, you are automatically registered for the online event for free. After November 25th both events require separate registration: registration and payment for one of these events does not equal registration for both.

¿Recibieron mi registro/pago?

Para el registro, recibirá una confirmación por correo electrónico de inmediato. Si no llega, por favor háganoslo saber. Cuando procesamos tus cuotas suele tomar unos días para que el banco las procese. De cualquier forma, cuando recibamos su pago le informaremos unos días después.

¿Necesitaré una visa para ir a Chequia?

Puede fijarse aquí cuál es la situación dependiendo de su ciudadania y, si es necesario, conseguir su Visado Schengen lo más antes posible.

¿Qué plataforma usaremos?

Usaremos nuestra propia plataforma virtual de eventos multilingües llamado Retevent. Para una experiencia mejor, recomendamos usar una computadora con una conexión de Internet de cable y unos audífonos con un micrófono. Los celulares o móbiles a veces sólo tienen un soporte limitado.

On the 4th of March, all registered participants will receive an e-mail with a link to the platform and login information. You do not need to install anything, you only need a web browser (using Chrome or Firefox is recommended).

¿Es apropriado el programa para mi huso horario?

Estamos tratando de hacer este evento virtual lo más global posible, por eso estamos tratando de tener un calendario apropriado para los diferentes husos horarios.

Todas las presentaciones serán grabadas y podrá verlas después cuando pueda, incluso después del evento - la plataforma continuará disponible por un mes después del fin de Polyglot Gathering.

In addition to the official dates of Polyglot Gathering Online (from March 5 to 8) during which live talks and multilingual chat rooms will be held, the online platform will stay available for one month after the event! There, you’ll have access to the recorded talks you missed.

¿Puedo contribuir al itinerario?

Yes, we are accepting suggestions for lectures and workshops (45-minute taster sessions). Lectures can be in any major language and some minor ones. Speakers should be motivated by the idea of sharing their passion with the polyglot community. Hablo sólo un idioma. ¿Puedo participar?

¡Sí! Si bien la conferencia es para los amantes de los lenguajes, no hay requisito formal de cuántos lenguajes tiene que hablar. Si revisa el itinerario del año pasado (o los videos de la última conferencia) y cree que le gustaría un evento como este, entonces usted es bienvenido a unirse. El rango de lenguajes hablados por nuestros participantes va de 1 a 30, con el medio de idiomas hablados de 6.

¿Qué lenguajes se utilizan en la conferencia?

Participants at the Polyglot Gathering indicate which languages they want to speak with others. It is not uncommon to change the language in the middle of a conversation or when another person joins in. The most frequent languages are English, Spanish, German, French, Russian and Esperanto. Don’t be surprised if people around you sometimes speak a language you haven’t even heard of before. Most talks are in English, but other languages are used as well. The languages used at each talk are always indicated in the program.

No, la Polyglot Conference es un evento ajeno organizado por nuestros amigos Richard Simcott y Alex Rawlings la cual se lleva a cabo en diferentes países cada año y ahora en línea. Los dos eventos buscan unir políglotas y entusiastas de los lenguajes y permiten que la comunidad políglota se reúna y comparta su gran pasión por los lenguajes. Estamos muy contentos de recibir participantes que han estado en las conferencias de Polyglot Conference y que quisiéran conocer más amantes de los lenguajes nuevamente.
